Julia’s education at Bastyr University was specifically designed to recognize the connection between the mind and the body. She has learned that just like it is possible to manage psychological conditions through diet and bioactive components it is also important and highly beneficial to recognize the psychological component of any disease. She draws her knowledge in this field from modern research as well as many ancient schools such as Ayurveda, Shamanism, and Slavic Healing traditions.
Julia sees people with a variety of conditions – mental, physical, or both and helps people heal through:
She will apply a modern approach to mental health issues and incorporate psychosomatic (breath and bodywork), spiritual, and energetic aspects of mental and emotional well-being into the treatment plan.
She will employ her knowledge of evidence-based nutrition, including supplements and herbs, and combine it with the bioenergetic properties of foods to come up with a treatment plan that will be compatible with your routine.
She will help you draw the connection between your mental and emotional state and its physiological manifestation. She will employ psychosomatic techniques to restore proper energy flow in your body, bringing back the state of balance.
What is psychosomatics and why is it so important?
Psychosomatic work recognizes that all organs and systems of our body are connected between themselves and are affected by our psychological state and employs tools to “fine tune” your body through work with your mind, breath, body, and energy field. Contrary to a popular belief that body-mind connection is poorly studied and rejected/not recognized by modern science, there are plenty of scientific literature and research addressing this issue. The “gut-brain connection” has recently become a quite popular topic of interest for many medical journals, yet it is not new at all – one can find research papers on this that are over 200 years old! And it is just in the area of research in this field – there is so much more to it!
